This 1988 Honda RC30 was supplied by GT Motorcycles and originally campaigned by Brett Sampson in the UK Super cup series of the time. It was then ridden to good effect by Allan Bennallick in the IOM TT races throughout the nineties. Allan had won Best Newcomer at the Manx and went on to record a number of top ten places at the TT, including a lap of 119mph in 1998, the last time it was used on the island. The engine was refreshed prior to the 1998 TT by its original tuner and builder Brian Capper (BGC Performance) and a recent dyno run gave 129 bhp at the rear wheel. The engine is fully ported and has HRC kit internals, including valves, pistons and cams, deep sump and kit ignition. HRC kit radiators. The standard RC30 forks have been modified by Maxton and an Ohlins rear suspension unit is fitted. The bike uses standard brake callipers with braking rotors fitted at the front with HRC kit race wheels. The bike received a cosmetic restoration by its current owner in 2007.
